Dr. Ioana Hulpus

Working as Postdoctoral Researcher

Ioana Hulpuș is a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Unit for Information Mining and Retrieval (UIMR) at the Insight Centre, NUI-Galway. She received her PhD in 2014 at the same institute. As part of her PhD research she studied the integration between text analysis and graph mining of Linked Data. In 2008, she received her Engineering Diploma in Computer Science at the Technical University, Cluj-Napoca. Her current work focuses on enriching the content of text documents with external structured knowledge. The latest advances of this work are showcased into Kanopy, an application that enables users to interpret text from the perspective of DBpedia.

Her research interests cover graph-based methods for text analysis, word-sense disambiguation, graph properties of structured knowledge bases, unsupervised machine learning, social network analysis and information diffusion.
